Rifts are interactable objects that can be found anywhere in Torisia.

Spawning

Only one rift exists at all times in each zone. Whenever you close one, a new rift will instantly respawn at a random respawn point. Rifts will always try to respawn at least 10 tiles away from the last rift. When spawned, each rift randomly generates its

These values are also stored in the save file so the only way to change what a rift contains is by closing it.

Rift level

Rift level is a value that determines how difficult the rift is. Rift level never changes until the rift is closed. It is set based on whatever level out of these is higher:

Rift level can scale only up (to your Combat level in low level zones) but never down (high zone level scaling down to match your Combat level).

Opening rifts

Once you find a rift, you have to walk close to it.

Once you interact with it, the opening process begins, which takes 4 seconds. During this time, you can still stop opening it and leave.

There are 2 ways to close a rift

  • Running away - If you move at least 20 tiles away from the rift, it starts a 10 seconds timer. If you stay too far from the rift when the timer expires, the rift collapses, closing itself and respawning anywhere else in the zone.

Loot

The loot you gain from rifts depends greatly on the rift's tier and its level.

There are a few types of loot you can get from closing rifts:
