Animal form is a
Nature utility spell. It instantly transforms you into an animal to increase your movement speed.
You can transform into 2 different animals:
Wolf - increases your movement speed while on land.

Beaver - increases your movement speed while in water. When active, you're slowed down by being in water by 20% compared to land (wolf) form (E.g. 200% movement speed at level 3 compared to wolf's 250%). However, water movement potions have no effect on you.

Animal forms are changed automatically based on where are you moving.
Any speed increasing food does not affect your Animal form movement speed. However, you can still increase its speed with travel potions.
You can transform into an animal while in combat but it costs 30% of your maximum mana to do so. Returning back to a human form is free and it happens automatically when you perform most of the actions (E.g. casting a spell, mining copper node, etc.) but a few actions won't transform you back like using an instant potion. You can also return to human form manually by using Animal form again.
Levels
Animal form unlocks automatically upon reaching
Agility level 5. It has only a single level, however its movement speed is increased by 2% for every level of
Agility, starting at 150% at level 1 and going up to 270% at level 60.
Level 1:
Ingame description:
Transforms into an animal, increasing your movement speed to X% of your regular speed
Costs 30% of your maximum mana if used while in combat
Interacting with the world or casting spells cancels the effect
