You can turn any non-boss and non-elite enemy at or under your level into your pet by simply casting Mind control on them.

Your pet will inherit the following traits from the enemy:

  1. Their appearance
  2. Their abilities - main attack, special attack and all spells
  3. Their class
  4. Their resistances

Your pet will NOT inherit the following traits from the enemy:

  1. Hitpoints
  2. Damage
  3. Speed
  4. Healing power
  5. Threat generation

These stats are based on your stats and your pet's class. You can view your current pet details by howering over their icons in the quickswap or pet bank window. Your pet will always match your speed or teleport instantly to you if you're over 18 tiles away from it.

Pets in combat

Your pet will fight alongside you. By choosing your pet's class and Pet stances, you can specialize your pet to fulfill a combat role you need. Enemies can target your pet only if you're in combat.

If your pet dies, it will automatically respawn upon leaving combat with 1 hitpoint.

Enemy targetting

Your pet uses a simple priority system when it comes to which enemy will it attack. If the currently targeted enemy dies or disappears, your pet will automatically targets the next enemy based on this priority system. If your pet is using projectile based abilities, they might still hit the wrong enemy if there's any in between your pet and its target.

Manual targetting

You can manually set a target for your pet by pressing the pet target keybind (backquote as default) while hovering with a mouse cursor over the target. You can cancel the target in the same way.

Semi-manual targetting

All of your single target projectile spells set this target on impact but your pet will attack it only as long as there's no manual target set.

Automatic targetting

If your pet doesn't have any set target, it will simply attack whoever is the closest to it as long as you are in combat.

Dying

Once your pet loses all of its hitpoints, it will die (or stay alive for a few seconds with Enchanted book - Mind control). It will respawn automatically once you leave combat. If your pet has any abilities on cooldown after dying, these cooldowns will be restarted using their full duration.

Hiding pet

You can hide your pet by pressing its keybind in the ability bar. While your pet is hidden, you gain a portion of its stats. If your pet has any abilities on cooldown after you hide it, these cooldowns will be restarted using their full duration.

Storing pets

Only one pet can be active at once but you can have up to 4 pets with you at all times stored in the quickswap slots from which you may freely swap your active pet any time you want as long as you're not in combat.

Pets can also be stored in your pet bank.
