Crime - Assaulting guard

Assaulting guard is a violent crime that happens when you attack a guard.

Crime values:

Cooldown 300 seconds
Bribe chance cap 70%
Convince chance cap 30%

Behavior

  • Attacking a guard treats the crime as instantly reported, even if you one shot the guard
  • Guards can be hit only once to arrest you. Any further attack will result in attacking you
  • If you run away and return, they can arrest you again, with the limitations of avoiding punishment
  • They will follow you forever unless you run away, kill them or accept a punishment
  • Only direct attacks can trigger reporting/attacking. Damage over time effects do not

Arrest

Guards will rush to you right when you attack them. If you run away, return and they get close enough to you, they will try to arrest you with these options:

Bribes cost (up to 12000 infamy points), multiplied by gold inflation.

Selecting the jail option if this is your worst crime committed has the following effects outside of other jail based punishments

  • Losing reputation equal to , up to 400 reputation points lost
  • NPCs lose opinion on you, spread equally among every NPC in the settlement
  • You gain 10% Vulnerability and 10% Weaken, lasting for seconds but it can last only from 30 to 300 seconds
