Assault is a violent crime that happens when you attack any non-guard NPC.

Behavior
- Attacking an NPC causes them to run to a guard to report it.
- While running or reporting, you can attack them with no further punishment
- After reporting, they return back to their routine
- If you attack them while their assault reporting is on a cooldown (even after reporting it), they attack instead. This does not add any further infamy points
- Only direct attacks can trigger reporting/attacking. Damage over time effects do not
Arrest
Guards will rush to wherever the crime happened. If they get close enough to you, they will try to arrest you with these options:
- Bribe
- Convince
- Go to jail
- Resist arrest
Bribes cost (up to 12000 infamy points), multiplied by gold inflation.
Selecting the jail option if this is your worst crime committed has the following effects outside of other jail based punishments
- Losing reputation equal to , up to 400 reputation points lost
- NPCs lose opinion on you, spread equally among every NPC in the settlement
- You gain 10%
Vulnerability and 10%
Weaken, lasting for seconds but it can last only from 30 to 300 seconds
