Perks are divided into 2 main categories:

  1. Conditional perks
  2. Passive perks

Conditional perks

Passive perks

Passive perks grant bonuses as long as you have invested combat or profession points in them. You don't need to do anything else to activate them.

Unlocking and upgrading perks

You can unlock any perk in the game by opening the skills window ("K" by default). All perks available to be upgraded show a plus sign inside of their icon. You can unlock or upgrade it only if you have enough combat or profession points.

You can always see the informations about the perk's current and next level in its tooltip when hovering over its icon.

After unlocking a new perk, most of them can be upgraded to level 2 and some even to level 3. Levels can unlock additional status effects the perk can apply or many other various boosts to their power.
