If you have multiple lockpicks, you can select which one to use once you start lockpicking.

Unlocking

Once you interact with a locked objects, a lockpicking window opens.

Lockpicking window

The goal is to lock all pins in their place. To do so, you have to time pressing the left mouse button or interaction key while the lock bar is passing under the hit spot.

Succesful locking of a pin
  • If successful - The pin is locked in place and you move to the next lock pin or unlock the objects
  • If failed - The pin bounces back to its original place. Based on the lockpick used, there's a chance it might break. You can keep trying as long as you have lockpicks
Broken lockpick after missing the hit spot

Unlike with most of the windows, lockpicking doesn't stop the time while opened. If someone sees you lockpicking an object that belongs to someone else, they will report you to the guards for lockpicking.
