Birds are critters that can randomly appear around you in groups every 15 to 30 seconds as long as there's less than 5 birds active at once. They can appear on any tiles except water or inside buildings. You can approach them but there's a 50% chance they will fly away, decreased by 1% for every point of opinion they have on you, up to 50 points of opinion when they no longer fly away.

Opinion

Birds increase their opinion on you by:

• 2, every time you feed them with Bread
• 1, every time you feed them with Wheat

without a limit but the highest relevant opinion is 50, anything above that still counts but is useful only to keep the maximum opinion benefits for a longer amount of time. Their opinion decreases by 0.01 every time a new bird group appears.

Feeding birds

Birds appear in a group of 1 or 2 by default but this can be increased by their opinion on you. Every opinion point increases the maximum group size by 0.1, up to a highest possible group size of 7 birds if they have 50 or more opinion on you.

Rewards

If their opinion on you is at least 10, every time a group of birds appears, there's also a chance equal to half their group size (1 bird = 0.5%, 7 birds = 3.5%) for the birds to send you a delivery which contains Gold equal to killing 2 - 10 enemies at your Combat level as a thanks for feeding them.

Bird types

There's many bird variations but they aren't doing anything special with the exception of pigeons.
