Chests
Chests are objects you can interact with to open them and obtain various different items. Loot in chests is generated for the entire zone upon entering it for the first time (or when chests are respawning). Items to change the loot inside (nor luck) affect only newly generated chests. They have no effect on those that are already generated.
Chest types
There are a few types of chests based on their behavior.
- Permanent - These chests generate their loot only once per game and never again. This option is most common for any type of container in settlements, E.g. closets
- Temporary - These chests generate after some action (E.g. finishing a rift). They do not get saved and reloading the game or changing zone makes them disappear forever
- Respawnable - These chests generate randomly all over Torisia at preset spawn points.
- Chests move to a queue the moment you open them. It doesn't matter whether you take their loot or not
- Only the newest 4 chests in the queue stay active. You can still loot these as long as you do not open a 5th one
- Once you open a 5th one oldest chest is removed but it doesn't respawn yet
- Once you open 15 chests, opening any additional chest respawns the oldest opened one.
- You gain 50
Exploration experience any time you open a chest that you haven't opened yet (including chests that have respawned).
Chest tiers
All respawnable chests spawn with a level that is randomly generated from zone's level -3 up to zone's level +3 (can range only from 1 to 60). Chest level matters for item level of equipment inside but also for tiers.
| Tier | Level range |
|---|---|
| 1 | 1 - 9 |
| 2 | 10 - 19 |
| 3 | 20 - 29 |
| 4 | 30 - 39 |
| 5 | 40 - 49 |
| 6 | 50 - 60 |
All possible loot is based on the chest's tier.
